The existing fire fighting and technical equipment has been removed from the truck and what is left is a naked chassis...Now we have to decide whether we leave the hydraulic winch. It weights quite a lot and the question is whether we will make really use of it in practice. It could be of great help once stuck in the mud or something like that. If we didn't had one, we probably wouldn't consider mounting a hydraulic winch; the costs and extra load/weight just don't outweigh the practical use. But it is there, well maintained and ready to use.
There is however a small problem: the hydraulic pump of the winch is connected with a gear shaft to the generator which in turn is connected with a shaft to the engine of the truck. So, taking out the generator (must do) means, we need to reconnect the hydraulic pump of the winch and extend the hydraulic hoses. We'll see....for now we leave it and when we start building the cabin, we will decide on that issue. In any case, we decided to dismantle the hydraulic lift at the back side. To be continued....
