The most used materials for building the cabin are glass reinforced plastic and aluminium. Both materials are used to form a sandwich panel with usually a thickness between 40 and 60mm depending on the usage. Plywood is becoming more popular, especially among " do-it-yourself" builders, since plywood is easy in using and processing. I really admire those who build their cabin themselves; it's amazing how talented people are!
Important for us is sufficient space for sleeping and personal care. A permanent bed of 160 x 210, a separate shower unit and toilet are a must.
The interior design should be functional and fitting the purpose. We would like to be self-supporting for at least 5 to 7 days, so sufficient water and power capacity is important.
